It’s Friday! We made it through another work week.
This weekend is CMA Fest in Nashville, which means thousands of people will be visiting Music City to enjoy the concerts, food, and festivities.
If you plan on being in Nashville this weekend, let me share a few of my favorite places to eat.
I was first introduced to Nashville through Devin Smith, and now it’s one of my favorite cities to visit. Between the food, the scenery, the people, and the endless things to do, Nashville will always have a special place in my heart.
One thing I love most about Nashville is that every restaurant feels like its own experience. Nothing feels copied and pasted. Every place has its own personality, atmosphere, and menu.
To give you an example of how unique Nashville’s food scene is, they have an entire restaurant dedicated to selling fresh popcorn. I had never seen anything like that before.
Anyways, like I mentioned earlier, I have Devin to thank for introducing me to most of these places. He loves to call me a foodie, but honestly, he picked every single one of these spots. Now I can’t stop going back.
Whether you’re looking for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or just a quick bite to eat, here are a few Nashville restaurants I think you should add to your list.
Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles

This is one of Nashville’s staples.
If you come to Nashville and don’t stop here, I’m sorry to tell you this… you didn’t really experience Nashville.
From the chicken and waffles to the fish and grits, this place never disappoints. The food is consistently good, the customer service is excellent, and the atmosphere always feels welcoming.
I’ve tried several items on the menu and have yet to find something I didn’t enjoy.
They also run specials regularly, which makes it affordable for just about anyone. Even when there isn’t a special, you can usually enjoy a great meal for around $25 or less.

Noir Kitchen & Cocktails

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Nashville.
It’s also Black-owned, which makes me love supporting it even more.
If you’re in town on a Friday, make this your happy hour stop. They offer $1 wings, drink specials, and half-off appetizers.
During my last visit, we ordered the wings, Bang Bang shrimp, spinach dip, and a few drinks to try. By the end of the meal, I wanted to meet the chef and personally say thank you.
The food is that good.
The atmosphere is fun, the customer service is top-tier, and if you catch happy hour, it’s surprisingly affordable.
Every Friday I’m in Nashville, this is my first stop.

Daddy’s Dogs

This is a spot that Devin’s friends couldn’t stop talking about.
I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. I enjoy a good hot dog during the summer, but some of the menu combinations looked like they could get a little messy.
Still, I decided to give it a chance.
Devin ordered the Chicago Dog, I went with the Chili Dog, and we shared a loaded order of tots.
Let’s just say the food disappeared in less than ten minutes, and we agreed not to judge each other for how quickly we ate it.
If you’re looking for a casual spot with good food and plenty of flavor, this is it.

Keke’s Breakfast Cafe

This is the perfect place to visit before heading home.
Our go-to order is either the Cheesesteak Omelet or a build-your-own omelet. The portions are generous, and most meals come with two sides at a very reasonable price.
Before you hit the road, do yourself a favor and order their orange juice.
Trust me.
A good breakfast can set the tone for your entire day, and Keke’s never disappoints.

One of the best things about Nashville is that it’s only about four hours from Montgomery.
If you’ve never visited and have a reliable car, I’d highly recommend making the trip.
This list only scratches the surface. I have plenty more Nashville recommendations, from restaurants and brunch spots to things to do around the city.
In fact, if enough people are interested, I may even put together a full Nashville weekend itinerary.
If you check out any of these places, let me know what you think. And if you have a favorite Nashville restaurant that isn’t on this list, leave me a recommendation.
Something tells me I’ll be back in Nashville soon, and I’m always looking for my next favorite spot.
